How to Minimize a Card on a Palm Pre

How to Minimize a Card on a Palm Pre thumbnail
WebOS is used on the Palm Pre and other Palm devices.

The Palm Pre uses the WebOS operating system. WebOS devices can run multiple applications at one time, called multitasking. To help you keep these applications organized WebOS uses a card view. Card view shows all the currently open applications as a series of small windowed cards. In card view you can open, close, rearrange and view application in rapid succession. WebOS devices use touch screens and an empty area below the screen, called a gesture area, to complete many tasks and actions including scrolling, zooming and text selection.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide your finger up from the gesture area onto the screen from any open application, or press the center button, to minimize the application into card view. In card view you can swipe back and forth across the screen to view different open applications.

    • 2

Press and hold the card to zoom out on the card view and see more open cards at one time. Pressing and holding the card will zoom out on the card view screen letting you see several cards at once, not just the three cards viewable on the zoomed in screen. Press and hold the center of a card to move and rearrange the order of cards.

    • 3

Slide the card up off the top of the screen to close the card. Press and hold the center of the card and move it toward the top of the screen to close the application. Cards can be closed in either zoomed in or zoomed out card views.
