How to Remove Word Corrections in an iPhone

The iPhone comes with an auto-correct and auto-capitalization feature. This feature automatically fixes perceived errors and typos. Unfortunately, the use of certain slang terms or words that are not in the auto-correct dictionary are often changed to words that aren't what you intended. This can lead to confusing or embarrassing text messages if you don't proofread your message. Remove the word correction features by going through the Settings application.

Instructions

    • 1

Tap the "Settings" app, then tap "General" in the screen that opens.

    • 2

Tap "Keyboard" in the next screen that opens up.

    • 3

Tap the "ON/OFF" toggle to the right of Auto-Capitalization and Auto-Correction until "OFF" is highlighted.

    • 4

Press the "Home" button below the iPhone screen to return to the home screen.
