How to Add LinkedIn Link to Twitter

Save

Cross-promoting your social media profiles can help friends on one network find and friend you on others. While LinkedIn lets you dedicate a portion of your profile to your latest Twitter update, Twitter has no such profile area for displaying your LinkedIn information. However, you can incorporate a link to your LinkedIn profile in your Twitter bio and in individual status updates, so potential and current Twitter followers can easily click through and learn more about your professional life.

  • Sign into your Twitter account at twitter.com.

  • Click your name in the top right corner and choose "Settings."

  • Click "Profile."

  • Enter your LinkedIn profile URL in the "Web" box. Your LinkedIn profile will become your main Twitter bio URL.

  • Enter your LinkedIn URL anywhere in the "Bio" box. Links preceded by "http://" in the "Bio" box become clickable in the Web interface and in many third-party Twitter applications.

  • Click "Save" to save any changes to your Twitter profile.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can paste your LinkedIn profile URL into any tweet to share it with your followers. Unlike including the URL in your Twitter profile, if you send it out as a tweet it will slowly drop off your Twitter profile page as you send more tweets.
