How to Hide Shortcut Arrows

The Windows desktop can be used to store files that you use daily as well as shortcut icons to programs installed on your computer. These shortcut icons can be differentiated from files by the arrow graphic that appears in the corner of the icon. This arrow graphic covers a portion of the icon and may make the icon difficult to see. You can remove the arrow from the shortcut icons on your desktop by making a small change in your Windows registry.
