How to Change the Email Client in Adobe Reader
Clicking on a "mailto" link embedded inside the body of a PDF tells Adobe's Reader software to open up a "Compose message" window with your default mail application. This helpful feature is designed to prevent the need to manually open your email program if you want to contact the address embedded in the link. The default email application for your operating system may not be the one you like to use, however. You can change the default email client right in the Adobe Reader X interface, but the changes affect all Windows programs, such as Internet Explorer.
