How to Find a Twitter User

How to Find a Twitter User thumbnail
When you follow a user, her updates show up on your news feed.

Twitter connects users to people they know, celebrities and news organizations. The small, 140-character updates that users submit keep their followers in the loop about their daily lives or breaking news. Find any user on the site through the use of the search bar, which yields results inclusive of member profiles and mentions of a particular person. Find users you know personally by allowing Twitter to scan your email address book.

Instructions

    • 1

Type the username or real name of a user in the search bar at the top of any Twitter screen. Click "Enter."

    • 2

Click the "People" tab in the search results to see a list of users that match your search terms.

    • 3

Go to your Twitter homepage and click the "Find Friends" link at the bottom of the "Who to Follow" section, located on the right side of the screen.

    • 4

Click on the icon representing your email service provider, and enter your email address and password. Click "Submit." Twitter will provide a list of your email contacts who are also registered with Twitter.
