A lemon cannot be peeled and eaten like an orange, but it is an essential addition to many food and drink items. Lemons have a sharp and sour taste that makes it difficult to eat them on their own. Instructions

      Remove any stickers from the lemons. Many grocery stores place individual stickers on their lemons.

      Place the lemons under running water to rinse them off.

      Scrub the lemons with a produce brush to remove any possible dirt and debris.

      Dry off the lemons with a paper towel or clean dish cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Food and Drug Administration does not recommend washing fruits and vegetables with any type of soap, detergent or commercial produce washes. Produce washes, which are unregulated, could leave harmful residues on the skin of the fruit.
