How to Upload a Picture on Facebook Using Dial Up

Facebook has become an enormously popular way for people to keep in touch with each other over the Web -- over 30 billion unique content pieces like photos and blogs are uploaded every month. Dial up Internet users may worry that their connection will prevent them from using the Facebook photo sharing option. While you won't be able to upload photos as quickly and easily as those using hi-speed or Broadband connections, you can still easily upload photos from your computer to your Facebook account.

Instructions

    • 1

Access the Internet and navigate to the Facebook login page.

    • 2

Enter the email address associated with your Facebook account and your personal password in the login area.

    • 3

Click "Photo," the third option after the word "Share."

    • 4

Click "Upload a Photo," in the middle of the screen on the left.

    • 5

Click the "Browse" button to bring up a directory of the photos on your computer.

    • 6

Click the photo you want to upload to Facebook. The name or number of this image will appear in the "File Name" field at the bottom of the page.

    • 7

Click "Open." You will be returned to the previous screen, with the "Browse" box now filled in with the name of the photo file.

    • 8

Click "Share," in the middle of the screen to the right.

    • 9

Wait for the photo to upload to Facebook. During the upload process, small bars which move up and down will appear on the right side of the screen. These bars indicate that the photo is in the process of being uploaded.

The dial up photo upload process may take several minutes, or longer depending on file size. If your dial up connection is interrupted the download will stop and you will have to start the process over.
