Unwanted calls or texts can be bothersome.

If you're regretting the fact that you gave a guy your cell phone number and are trying to get him to leave you alone, it's essential to make it clear to him that you're not interested. Perhaps you've discovered that he's simply not your type, or is too persistent for your liking. Whatever the case may be, there are a few things you can do to get a man to stop texting or calling you.

Instructions

    • 1

Let the man know that you do not want him to text or call you again. It is possible that you are being too nice and have led him to think you are interested in him. Start out by politely letting him know that you just aren't interested and if he doesn't get the point, be a little more blunt about it.

    • 2

Ignore his texts and phone calls. If you have already tried to make it clear that you are not interested and he continues to call you or text you repeatedly, make sure you do not respond. If you continue to respond to his texts or calls, he will be more likely to pursue talking to you

    • 3

Block his phone number. If trying to be nice about it doesn't work, you may want to consider blocking his number. Contact your phone service provider and have the man's number blocked from calling your phone.

    • 4

Change your number. If you continue to get harassed by a man and he proceeds to call or text you using other various phone numbers, consider having your number changed. In this case, be sure not to give out your new number to anyone who may pass it along to those who you don't want calling you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Call the police to obtain a restraining order against the man if he continues to harass you.
