How to Become a Person That Helps Out With Computer Problems
You don't have to have a computer degree to be able to help your friends, family and coworkers when they have computer problems. Most technicians will even tell you there are a few simple things that people can do to keep their computers running well and to fix simple problems. Helping others with their computer problems can make you feel good but it can also advance your career.

Solve your own problems. Finding out how to resolve simple computer problems on your own by trial and error will give you a heads up. Reading a book on basic computer repair will also help.

Offer help to others who are having computer problems. Saving people from having to wait for support will often be appreciated. Restarting a program or restarting the computer can often fix a problem.

Talk with your tech support team. You can tell them how you have been helping others and ask if there is an official, or even unofficial, partnership that can be made so that you can help others in your office. They may be able to provide some training or other means to help you help others.
