How to Remove Your Firefox Sync

Firefox Sync is a handy service if you regularly switch between multiple computers. If you no longer want your bookmarks and settings stored on one of Firefox's servers, deleting your account only takes a minute. However, once your account is deleted, there is no way to recover your sync data. As of the time of publication, the Firefox Sync website still instructs users to delete the Firefox Sync plugin within their add-ons, but this option is no longer available in Firefox 4.

Instructions

      Sign in to your account at the Firefox Sync website.

      Locate the "Account Settings" section within the left sidebar. Click "Delete your account."

    • 3

      Type your password into the confirmation field. Click the "Delete My Account" button. You are logged out and returned to the login screen. Your account is no longer active.
