How to View JPG on Kindle 2

Save

The Kindle 2, developed by Amazon, allows users to download and read ebooks while on the go. Many ebooks are produced in PDF format, including those downloaded directly from the Kindle's preinstalled Amazon marketplace. However, you are not limited to PDFs. You can scan books into your computer as JPG image files and view them on the Kindle 2. In just a few minutes, you can upload a JPG ebook or family photo to use on your Kindle 2.

Things You'll Need

  • USB cable
  • Plug your Kindle 2 into an open USB port on your computer. Wait a moment while your computer detects the device. A small notice in the right-hand corner will indicate when the device is ready to use.

  • Close any auto-play options that appear.

  • Click on the Windows "Start" button.

  • Click "Computer."

  • Click on "Kindle."

  • Click on the "Documents" folder.

  • Right-click in an empty space on the folder.

  • Hold the mouse over "New" and then click on "Folder."

  • Rename the new folder to "Pictures."

  • Click and drag JPG images from your computer into this new folder. This will move them onto your Kindle 2.

  • Right-click on the hardware icon in the lower-right corner, select the Kindle, and click "Safely Remove Hardware." Unplug the Kindle once a prompt tells you it is safe to do so.

  • Turn on your Kindle 2 and go to the Kindle "Home Page."
