How to Stop an avast! Bubble From Spinning
Avast! offers real-time virus scanning with eight separate shields. You can turn individual shields on and off to improve performance or increase security in three general areas: online, file-system protection and network protection. The avast! system-tray icon is an orange globe that spins anytime an avast! shield is performing a scan. The spinning globe is purely aesthetic, and you can turn the animation off through the avast! settings.
