How to Remove the Drop Down Arrow From the Bookmark Toolbar in Firefox
The Firefox bookmarks toolbar includes an icon and name for each website you add to it. This toolbar lets you access your most frequently visited websites with a single mouse click, but there's a limit to the number of sites that will fit. When there's no more room, a pair of right-facing arrows appears on the right edge of the bookmarks toolbar, and you have to click on them to access a drop-down menu that includes the runover sites. There are a few ways to eliminate this drop-down list and get all of your favorite sites to fit into the bookmarks toolbar.

1
Shorten the text that accompanies each bookmark. Right-click on a bookmark in the toolbar and select "Properties." Reduce the number of characters that appear in the "Name" field for that site; for example, remove ".com" from the name of a website. Delete all of the text in the "Name" field to be left with just an icon of the site.

2
Remove the icons from the bookmarks toolbar and use text alone to identify the sites. Click on "View" from the top-left of the screen, highlight "Toolbars" and click on "Customize...." Click on the drop-down menu next to "Show" on the lower-left corner of the window and select "Text," then click on "Done."

Install a Firefox add-on to manage your bookmarks. Click on "Bookmarks" from the top menu and select "Get Bookmarks Add-Ons." Select an add-on like Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar, which presents your bookmarks in multiple rows, or Samfind Bookmarks Bar, which gives further customization options. Click on "Add to Firefox" next to an add-on and click on "Install Now," then restart your browser to activate the add-on.
