How to Hide Slide Icons in Powerpoint

Slide icons appear when you insert media like sound files or video files into your PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint gives you the option to hide these slide icons during your presentation. Hide slide icons only if you set the sound or movie to play automatically during presentation. You can also hide slide icons if you create some other kind of control, such as an action button, to click to play the sound or movie.

  • Navigate to the slide that has the slide icon. Single-click the slide icon. This will activate the "Sound Tools" or "Movie Tools" button above the Office ribbon in the upper left corner of Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Click the button labeled "Sound Tools." If you wish to hide a movie icon, click "Movie Tools."

  • Check "Hide During Show" check-box.

  • Press "F5" key to start the slide show. The slide icon will disappear from the slide.
