A microSD card enables you to transfer files between a computer and many digital devices such as a cellphone, digital-media device or digital camera. A microSD card is quite small, but with an adapter, you can insert it into standard SD reader slots on a computer. After inserting the card, you can put files on the microSD card using a simple transfer process either on your computer or on your digital device.
Things You'll Need
- MicroSD card adapter
Insert the microSD card into the adapter. Look carefully at the microSD card to find the metal connectors and insert the card with the lettering facing up and the connectors going into the adapter first. Insert the adapter into the reader slot of your computer.
Click the “Start” menu and then “Computer” to view the storage devices on your computer. You should see an icon representing the microSD card. Double-click this icon to open the microSD card.
Navigate to the files you want to transfer to the microSD card, right-click the files and select “Copy.”
Position your cursor in the microSD card window on your computer and right-click again. Select “Paste” to transfer the files to the microSD card.
Remove the card adapter from the slot and remove the microSD card from the adapter. Insert the microSD card into your digital device and open the device's file manager to check to make sure the files transferred properly.
