How to Remove a Dilated Pore on the Forehead

Permanently removing a dilated pore on the forehead may be difficult to do without cosmetic surgery, but you can shrink the pore temporarily. Your genetic makeup, acne and some skin care products may lead to enlarged pores. If big pores appear on your forehead, its probably in the "t-zone," an area located across the forehead and down the bridge of the nose. Camoflauge a dilated pore with oil-free makeup and use regular skin care to tighten it.

Things You'll Need

  • Facial scrub
  • Washcloth
  • Toner
  • Cotton swab
  • Pore minimizer
  • Towel
  • Oil-free moisturizer
  • Exfoliate the pore with a facial scrub using a damp washcloth. After exfoliating for 30 seconds, rinse the scrub from the face with cool water.

  • Pat the skin dry and apply toner to the pore using a cotton swab. This will dry any remaining dirt in the pore and tighten the skin.

  • Use a pore minimizer that contains retinols or salicylic acid, ingredients known to provide some shrinkage. Apply this treatment everyday after cleansing the skin.

  • Treat your facial skin to a sink steam once a week. Fill a sink 2/3 full with steamy water then place a towel over the back of your head. Lean forward over the steam for one minute. This will remove excess debris from the pore, thus allowing it to shrink.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apply an oil-free matte makeup to the area to treat enlarged pores.
