How to Use Photoshop 5.0 to Add a Watermark

A watermark is a small transparent image that you add to a digital photo or picture. The watermark can be any image, often in the form of copyright text or a logo, and is often used to display ownership or artist information to prevent image theft. You can use Photoshp 5.0 to create a watermark out of a small digital image, which can copyright and secure the original images you use in online galleries or on websites.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "File" and choose "Open" to browse your computer for the image you want to watermark.

    • 2

Double-click the image to load it in Photoshop.

    • 3

Repeat the process to open the image or logo you want to use as a watermark. This image should be smaller than the original image.

    • 4

Left-click on the watermark image and drag it into the window that contains your original image. This will place the watermark image in a floating layer on top of the main image.

    • 5

Left-click and drag the watermark image to the position you would like it to display and release the mouse button.

    • 6

Click the "Windows" menu, then select "Layers" if you can not see the "Layers" window.

    • 7

Select "Layer 1" from the Layers window.

Click the arrow next to the "100%" in "Opacity." This will display a opacity slider bar.
