How to Use Photoshop 5.0 to Add a Watermark
A watermark is a small transparent image that you add to a digital photo or picture. The watermark can be any image, often in the form of copyright text or a logo, and is often used to display ownership or artist information to prevent image theft. You can use Photoshp 5.0 to create a watermark out of a small digital image, which can copyright and secure the original images you use in online galleries or on websites.

Click "File" and choose "Open" to browse your computer for the image you want to watermark.

Double-click the image to load it in Photoshop.

Repeat the process to open the image or logo you want to use as a watermark. This image should be smaller than the original image.

Left-click on the watermark image and drag it into the window that contains your original image. This will place the watermark image in a floating layer on top of the main image.

Left-click and drag the watermark image to the position you would like it to display and release the mouse button.

Click the "Windows" menu, then select "Layers" if you can not see the "Layers" window.

Select "Layer 1" from the Layers window.

Click the arrow next to the "100%" in "Opacity." This will display a opacity slider bar.

Slide the bar towards the left to decrease the opacity. This will make the watermark image transparent.

Click the "Layer" menu from the top toolbar, then select "Flatten Image." This will flatten the watermark on to the main image.

Click "File" and choose "Save As" to save your watermarked image to your computer.
