How Can I Download Email Attachments?

Email messages were originally designed to support only text. MIME encoding allows binary files, such as pictures and small videos, to be converted to text for transport within an email message. These files are attachments. You can download email attachments to your computer where they are automatically converted from the MIME format back to their native binary format.

Instructions

1. Open the email program or email website.

2. Double-click the email message with the attachment.

3. Click the paperclip icon.

4. Click "Download attachment," or "Save as..." depending on your email client or Web page.

5. Click to choose the save location on your computer, then click "Save." The email attachment is now downloaded to the computer.
