Create a base for your costume. Anything black will work, but the traditional vampire female is usually seen wearing a long black dress. Red accents are a bonus, but black will work. If you don't have a black dress, put together an outfit with a black top and black skirt. Finish the outfit off with black shoes and tights. The look can be as casual or as dressy as you want it to be.

Give yourself an unmistakeable vampire face. Start with white face powder or baby powder. Brush it all over your face for a corpse-like look. Vampires don't see the sun, so you want to be as pale as possible. Make your eyes stand out and look a little dead by lining them with black eyeliner and putting on heavy black eye shadow and mascara. Add dark red lipstick to your mouth. For a nod to the Twilight series, in which all vampires are sparkly, dust on some glitter powder for fun.

Vamp it up with a few extras that you need to complete your vampire costume. Pull on a black cape and insert some artificial fangs. These can be picked up fairly cheaply at a costume shop or other retailer. For an added effect, draw a couple of bite marks on your neck and drip fake blood coming out of them. Put a little fake blood around your mouth to look like you've just had a human snack. To add some more realism, dust a light coat of baby powder into your hair to look like the dust from the grave.
