How to Display Favorite Buttons
Customizing your application to display your favorite buttons is an easy way to access information. Most widely used applications have enabled users to display favorite buttons to increase work efficiency. This also enabled significant customization of application views and access to functionality that if searched via the standard menus would not have been as rapid and easy to find. Knowing how to display favorite buttons also gives individuals capabilities to better understand the application in use.

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner and then clicking Internet Explorer. In Internet Explorer 8, right-click the "Command" bar, point to "Customize" and then click "Add or Remove Commands." In Internet Explorer 7, right-click the "Command" bar, point to "Customize Command Bar," then click "Add or Remove Commands."

Add a button by clicking the button you want to add in the Available toolbar buttons list and then click Add.

Change the order in which buttons are displayed by clicking a button in the Current toolbar buttons list and then click either "Move Up" or "Move Down."

Click "Close" when additions and changes are completed. The changes have an immediate affect. If you've added several buttons, you might need to resize the Command bar to see them all.
Office Applications

Open any Office application by clicking the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner and then clicking Office applications and selecting one.

Right-click the "Command" bar, point to "Customize Quick Access Toolbar..."

Select "All Commands" from the "Choose commands from:" drop-down menu.

Select the favorite buttons you would like to display and click "Add."

Click "OK" when completed and all the favorite buttons will display.
Start Menu

Right click on the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner and choose "Properties"

Make sure that the "Start Menu" tab is selected (it should be by default).

Click the "Customize" button.

Click the "Display Favorites" check box, then click "OK" to display the settings.

Click "OK" to close the "Properties" box. Click on the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner to see if the "Favorites" appear.
