How to Photoshop a Nose Piercing
Have you ever been interested in seeing what you would look like with a nose piercing but are not sure enough about it to actually get your nose pierced? You can Photoshop a piercing onto your nose in a digital image of yourself. This can show you what you would look like with this form of body modification. If you have even basic skills using Adobe Photoshop, you can do this.
Things You'll Need
- Adobe Photoshop
- Digital images (of yourself and someone with a nose piercing)
Instructions

1
Open Adobe Photoshop on your computer. Open a digital photo of yourself, preferably a portrait shot, that you want to Photoshop a nose piercing on.
-
2
Locate a digital photo online of a person with a nose piercing. Make sure to choose a picture that is a closeup portrait shot where the person's face is in the same angle and positioning as yours in your photo. For instance, if you opened a profile shot of yourself, you should obtain a profile shot of the person with the pierced nose as well, so that it corresponds with your image. Make sure the person's skin color at least closely resembles yours.

3
Open the digital photo of the person with the nose piercing in Photoshop. If the image is smaller than 1200 pixels wide, use the "Zoom" tool to zoom in on the nose by at least 200 percent. Make sure you can still see the piercing when using the "Zoom," as a tiny nose stud may not show up well due to the enlarged pixels. If this is the case, then zoom out a bit.
-
4
Click on the "Lasso" tool in the left-hand panel. Set the feather in the box at the top of the screen to the left to a number to 4 pixels. This will smooth out what you will crop in the nose piercing photo so that there are no ragged edges, which gives a more natural look.
-
5
Click on the pierced nose. Hold the left mouse button down and go around the pierced spot until you have made the full selection. Go to "Edit" and select "Copy."
-
6
Go back to your photo and zoom it if necessary. Go to "Edit" and click "Paste." This will paste the part of the other person's nose with the nose piercing on your image.
-
7
Click on the black arrow at the top of the left-hand tools panel. Click on the pasted partial nose and nose piercing. Move it to your own nose so that it is in the right spot. You should have a nostril and the piercing jewelry showing over your own nose. It should look fairly natural due to the usage of the "Feather" effect you applied when selecting the "Lasso" tool.
-
8
Use the "Healing Brush" tool to make any corrections. You can locate this tool by placing your cursor on the bandaid icon in the left-hand tools panel and holding down your left mouse. Select the second icon in the small box that appears.
-
9
Zoom in on your Photoshopped image. Reselect the "Healing Brush" and right-click on the picture. A small window will appear, and at the top, you can change the size of your "Healing Brush." Reduce the size of the tool so that you can work on an area that is as small as a nose.
-
10
Hold down the "Alt" key. At the same time, right-click on your mouse on a part of the photo that has your real nose. This will select pixels that are the same shade of your skin. This is helpful if the person whose nose piercing your Photoshopped on your image has a skin color or tone that differs from yours.
-
11
Gently brush over the Photoshopped nose. Use tiny strokes to simply blend the other nose into your own. Make sure not to go over any part of the nose piercing.
