How to Capitalize the Letters in OneNote

Microsoft OneNote is a program in the Microsoft Office Suite designed for students and teachers. In OneNote users can organize project information such as notes (both typed and handwritten), drawings and audio then share the projects online with other students. Like all Microsoft Office programs, you can enable the program to automatically capitalize the first letter of each sentence while typing, using the AutoCorrect function. Setting up AutoCorrect in Microsoft OneNote is a simple and straight-forward task that only takes a few moments.

  • Launch Microsoft OneNote by double-clicking the desktop shortcut icon or by clicking "Start," "Programs," "Microsoft Office" and clicking on "Microsoft Office OneNote."

  • Click "File" in the top menu and select "Open." Navigate to the location of any OneNote file that you wish to open and double-click it. Note that you must open a file in order to change the AutoCorrect features for the program.

  • Click on "Tools" in the top menu and select "AutoCorrect Options." A dialog box will appear.

  • Click the "AutoCorrect" tab in the dialog box.

  • Place a check-mark next to "Capitalize first letter of sentences."

  • Click "OK" to save your settings. OneNote will now automatically capitalize the first letter of each new sentence.
