How to Clean a K-Tec Blender
K-Tec is the maker of the Blendtec "Total Blender," which is a high end blender with a variety of functions. The Total Blender uses a touch pad and has pre-programmed cycles for frozen yogurt, crushing ice, fondue, sauces, dressing and batter. When the cycle is completed, the blender shuts off automatically. It is important to keep your K-Tec blender clean for smooth operation, but the blender is not difficult to maintain. Quick Clean

Add 1 cup of hot water into the blender container with one drop of liquid dish soap.

Place the container on the base and secure the lid on top. Hold the lid down with your hand and hit the pulse button for four to five seconds.

Rinse the container with clean water until all signs of soap are gone.

Wipe the base of the blender and touch pad with a damp towel, but don't submerge it in water.
Long Term Cleaning

Add hot water to the container so it is half full, and then stir in 1 tsp. of bleach for 10 seconds. Let the mixture stand for five minutes.

Empty the container into the sink and rinse it out thoroughly several times to remove all the bleach.

Place the container on a dish rack right side up to dry.
