How to Unlink Pages in Mac Pages

The Apple iWorks Pages is a word processing application developed for the Mac OS X operating system. When you copy and paste a web URL or file path (for example to another document on your Mac), then Mac iWork Pages automatically creates a hyperlink to that page or document. If you click that hyperlink, which is now blue and clickable, your browser or Finder will open. This is useful for some purposes. Most of the time in a text file you will want no links and so you need to unlink those pages.

Unlinking pages

  • Click "Pages" on your Dock. Press "CMD"+"O." Locate and open an example document that has linked pages.

  • Highlight the link.

  • Click the "Link" (arrow facing to the right in a circle) button in the "Inspector" dialog window.

  • Click "Hyperlink."

  • Unselect the checkbox next to "Enable as a Hyperlink" to disable the link.
