Log into the registrar from which you purchased your domain. If you don't have a domain yet, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers keeps a list of accredited registrars. Visit the ICANN website to find it.

Find your domain's A-record, or IP address. The domain registrar provides this information. To point the domain to your Tumblr account, change its IP address here to 72.32.231.8.

Visit the Tumblr website and sign in to your Dashboard.

Click the "Customize" link. If you have problems finding it, press "Ctrl" and "F" to run a search. You can also look for the wrench icon -- "Customize" is right beside it.

Click the "Info" tab in the menu at the top of the screen.

Click the box beside "Use a Custom Domain Name." Type your domain in the box below.

Click the green "Save + Close" button. From this point forward, your personal blog domain will point to your Tumblr account.
