How to Decorate a Lace Umbrella
Lace umbrellas are a type of parasol that either has lace covering the entire umbrella or has a lace edge along the bottom. The type of lace umbrella will dictate options for decoration, but in general only the umbrellas with lace along the edge allow further decoration on the umbrella.

Painting on the umbrella is one option -- handpainted designs such as flowers or rainbows, or lettering spelling out a desired saying or someone's name -- using acrylic paint.

Adding ribbon and bows is another option -- make some bows out of ribbon or buy ready-made bows. Apply a dab of hot glue to the bow and place it where desired on the umbrella. If the umbrella's lace edge is white, you can glue colored ribbon to the underside of the lace so it will show through in a splash of color.

If bows aren't your thing, glue some silk flowers to your umbrella the same way you would have the bows -- put a dab of glue on the flower and press it onto the umbrella. A ring of flowers all around the umbrella, just above the lace, makes a lovely accent.
