How to Upload an FTP File
FTP, short for File Transfer Protocol, is a system created for the transferal of files from computer to computer. FTP is most often used for uploading files to websites, transferring the files from the user's computer to the live web server. The most practical way of uploading with FTP is to use an FTP client program.

Open your FTP client on your computer.

Enter your FTP host, user name and password into their respective text boxes. In the box labeled "Port", type "21." Click "Connect."

Wait until FTP client connects to the other computer or server.

Find the file you want to upload on the local side of the FTP client. Drag this file over to the side of the FTP client that contains a list of files on the other computer or server and drop it. If you want to place the file in a folder on the computer or server, drop it on that folder.

Wait for the file to upload.
