How to Set Up Auto Tweets

Twitter is currently used by up to 200 million people and, according to The Nielsen Company, U.S. Twitter users spent more than six hours per week sending out tweets to their followers in 2010. There are times when you might want to automate parts of your social media campaign to save time on sending out regular tweets about your latest promotions or events. There are simple ways by which you can set up auto tweets to achieve your social networking goals.

Things You'll Need

  • Registered account with SocialOomph.com
  • Visit SocialOomph.com to register your free or premium account . SocialOomph.com provides a service that allows you to send tweets directly from the Web site as well as schedule tweets months in advance.

  • Click "Schedule New Update." Add your message, and if you wish to shorten a Web address, just click the "Shorten URLs" button. It is good practice to shorten URLs because Twitter only allows for 140 characters and your links might consume much of that character limit.

  • Select when you would like to post the tweet by using the "Date Selector" tool, which looks like a mini calendar, or by entering the exact "date/day/month/year hour\minute am\pm" in the text field provided.

  • Click the "Save" button to complete the process. All scheduled tweets appear below the scheduling form and you can edit these by clicking the pen icon.
