How to Boot From a CD for XP Repair
Windows XP comes in a bootable CD that you can use to boot your computer from a CD/DVD-ROM instead of the hard disk. This bootable CD also allows you to repair Windows XP in the event of an operating system failure. Most computers are configured by default to detect bootable CDs during computer startup.
