You can easily create and print a bar graph using PC applications.

Creating a bar graph on your PC is quite a straightforward process. All you have to do is insert the graph's items and their respective values. Everything else, including the length of the graph's bars, their color, shape and the distance between them is automatically done by the computer, based on display options you have chosen. However, in order to make a bar graph, you need a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel. You can also use similar -- albeit more simplistic -- online graphing applications.

Instructions

  1. Bar Graphs With Microsoft Excel

    • 1

List the items of your bar graph on one column and their respective values on the adjacent column. Select all the data and click on the graphs shortcut on the toolbar (the bar graph miniature) or open the "Insert" list and click on the "Graphs" option.

    • 2

Select the bar chart type and go through the remaining options. These options include -- among others -- the graph's look (3-D or 2-D), the bar's shape (cylindrical, conical, box) and the graph's title and legend.

    • 3

Click "Finish" and the chart will become visible over the spreadsheet. Right-click on the graph to edit it. You can also copy the bar graph and paste it to other applications, such as word processors, or print it.

    Online Bar Graphs

    • 4

Visit ChartGo.com, an online graphing application. Unlike Microsoft Excel, you have to select your graph's settings first.

    • 5

Input the x- and y- axis data in their respective boxes. The examples can help you use the correct box for each data.

    • 6

Click on the "Create Chart" button to reveal your chart. Right-click on the image to save it on your hard disc or scroll down to share your bar graph, as well as to get the embed code for your Web site.
