How to Resize Left Columns in Google Maps

The left column in Google's "Google Maps" online map creation service is where you input things such as your origin, destination and other characteristics about the map you are creating. You can adjust the size of this left column in one of two ways. You can completely minimize it and take it off the screen, or you can maximize it and view all of its content on screen at the same time.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Web browser and visit the main Google Maps Web site (http://maps.google.com).

    • 2

Locate the "Hide Panel" button in the top-right corner of the column on the left side of the screen. The words "Hide Panel" will appear over top of this button when you hold your mouse cursor over top of it.

    • 3

Click the "Hide Panel" button one time to resize the left column by completely minimizing it.

    • 4

Click the "Hide Panel" button one more time to resize the left column by returning it to its normal size.
