How to Create Desktop Shortcuts for Google Maps

Google Maps offers driving directions and area maps for the entire United States and many areas around the world. If you've configured a map and wish to have easier access to it, you can link directly to it from your Desktop by creating a shortcut. This shortcut will automatically launch your default browser and reload the designated map.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Maps.Google.com in your Web browser and configure the map to your preference. You can click "Get Directions" to display driving directions between two points, or simply enter a city and state into the top search bar for an area map.
