How to Take Photos With the PS2 Eye Toy Webcam

The PS2 Eye Toy is an external Web cam designed for use with the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console. The Eye Toy operates very similarly to a standard computer Web cam, allowing images and videos that are captured to be displayed on-screen via the console. You can take a photo with your PS2 Eye Toy in just a few seconds.

Instructions

1. Connect your Eye Toy's USB cable to one of the USB ports on your PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 gaming console has two USB inputs located on the back of the unit to the immediate right of the port, labeled "Expansion Bay."

2. Place your Eye Toy on a flat surface, such as a shelf or table, or on the top of your television set.

3. Insert a video game disc that makes use of the PlayStation 2 Eye Toy. Games with Eye Toy functionality will state this on the rear of the package, next to the listing for how many players with which the game is compatible and how much space the game takes up on a memory card.

4. Begin the "Eye Toy" functionality section of the game. Certain games will use the Eye Toy during regular game play, while others will have a separate section you select from the main menu.

5. Press "X" on your controller to take a photo with your PlayStation 2 Eye Toy.
