How to Convert MIDI to MP3 in Adobe Audition 2

Save

The Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) format stores music as electronic files. These simple, synthesized tunes used to be popular in early video games and in old ringtones and people still use them in karaoke. IPods and other portable music players may not play MIDI files, but they can if you convert them to MP3s. Note, however, that converting the file will add no new data to it and won't change the file's sound to match an MP3's usual quality.

  • Open the MIDI file in Adobe Audition.

  • Click "File" from the menu bar, and select "Export".

  • Select "MP3" from the "file type" drop-down box.

  • Optionally, lower the number in the "sample rate" to the original recording's sample rate -- for instance, to 11 kHz.

  • Click "Save".
