Pittsburgh residents can donate medical equipment in good condition to local non-profits that help those overseas who can't afford medical goods, or help local residents in need. While mobility equipment is particularly wanted, Pittsburgh non-profits may have other needs as well. Review donation options first, then call before you go to donate to make sure your goods are needed.
Bring wheelchairs, walking canes, other mobility equipment and nebulizers to Global Links (globallinks.org), where the equipment will be sent to developing countries. Donations accepted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Call Brother's Brother to discuss donating medical equipment (brothersbrother.org). They take mobility equipment and other medical supplies, but only do so after discussing the matter with potential donors.
Give wheelchairs, walking aids, scooters or bath safety aids to the Pittsburgh Wheelchair Exchange (pittsburghwheelchairexchange.com). Donated equipment goes to Allegheny County residents who are registered with the National MS Society and who need mobility equipment.
