How to Find a Better Job While Working Full Time

Some people search for better jobs while working full-time. They may wish to increase their earning potential or change professions. With all your responsibilities at work and at home, it seems like there is no time left to find another job. While looking for new employment is challenging when you work full-time, it can be done. Set time aside each day to search for better employment opportunities.

Instructions

1. Send your resume to different companies during your lunch break at work. Never search for jobs while you are on the clock; you do not want to risk making your boss angry. Also, make phone calls to potential employers during your break. Be discreet when you make phone calls, so your co-workers cannot listen to your conversation.

2. Search for jobs online on Saturdays and Sundays. While your weekends may be reserved for cleaning the house and spending time with your family, you can still make the time to send out resumes. Wake up 30 minutes early to search for jobs online.

3. Take a personal day from your job if you are called for an interview. Avoid going to an interview during your lunch hour or taking a half-day because you want to reserve enough time for your interview.

4. Do not tell your co-workers about resigning until you officially get hired by another company. After you receive an offer letter, give your boss a 2-week notice. It is best to leave on good terms because you never know if you will work with your boss again in the future.
