You can make craft angels during the winter holidays.

Throughout the winter holidays, most children are home from school during the day and may feel bored without their typical school day activities to keep them entertained. One way to keep your children occupied is to provide them with a festive craft. For example, you can show the kids how to make a holiday-themed angel out of items, such as plastic cones, that can be found around the house or at a craft supply store.

  • Plastic cone
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush

Instructions

    • 1

Place a plastic cone upside down on a table top and paint it using acrylic paints to your preference. Allow the paint to dry for 20 minutes.

    • 2

Push a hot glue stick into the back of a hot glue gun and plug it in to heat up.

    • 3

Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of hot glue onto the pointed top of the cone, and press a colorful pom pom onto the hot glue dollop. Hold the pom pom in place for three minutes so that the hot glue can harden.

    • 4

Squeeze two small dollops of hot glue onto the front of the pom pom and press two googly eyes onto the hot glue. Hold the eyes in place for 3 minutes so that the hot glue can harden.

    • 5

Cut a piece of chenille stick into a 3-inch section and bend the section into a circle. Hot glue the circle onto the top of the pom pom. Hold it in place as before to let the hot glue cool and harden.

    • 6

Bend two full-sized chenille sticks into angel wing forms and squeeze hot glue onto the chenille sticks. Lay tissue paper over the glued chenille sticks, and allow the glue to harden. Cut around the tissue paper at the chenille sticks to create the finished wings. Hot glue the wings onto the back of the angel. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden before displaying the plastic cone angel.
