Unfortunately pimples are one of those things that even makeup can't always hide. Triggered by everything from hormones and stress to poor eating habits, pimples can pop up overnight, creating an embarrassing and highly visible change to your appearance. If you're looking to calm pimples and the added redness that comes along with it, proper care and a little awareness can help you successfully achieve both.
Things You'll Need
- Ice cube
- Clean cloth
- Antibacterial or acne medicated soap
- Dry towel
- White toothpaste
- Raw honey
Wrap a piece of ice in a clean cloth and hold it to the pimples for at least 10 minutes, to reduce the redness.
Wash your face morning and night, to keep it clean. Use an antibacterial soap or a medicated soap that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Pat your skin dry rather than rubbing, as this tends to aggravate the skin.
Keep your hands off of your face and avoid the temptation to squeeze and pick at pimples. The oils in your fingertips can create more pimples and picking at existing ones only leads to scars.
Coat a particularly red and irritating pimple with a white non-gel toothpaste, before you go to bed and wipe it away in the morning to reduce redness and swelling.
Apply raw organic honey to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes, before washing it off with a warm damp cloth. Do this once a week to fight off and prevent acne.
Tips & Warnings
- Talk to your doctor or a dermatologist for recommendations and possible medications that can aid you in your battle with pimples.
- Wash your face no more than twice daily, to prevent your skin from drying out.
