How to Insert an Image Into Photoshop Elements

Adobe Photoshop Elements brings the image-editing power of Adobe Photoshop to a consumer audience. While many of the features are similar, Photoshop Elements does not include certain features that are useful only to professional graphic designers. Photoshop Elements refers to inserting an image into a document as "placing" it. You can place any image format that Photoshop Elements supports, including JPEG, EPS, TIFF, GIF and PNG.

  • Open the "File" menu and select "Place."

  • Select the desired image file and press "Place."

  • Click the handles around the edge of the image and drag them to adjust the size of the image. Hold down the "Shift" key to maintain the proportions of the original while you resize the image.

  • Press the "Return" key to accept the size of the image.

  • Click the center of the image and drag it to move it in the document.
