How to Make a Blog Post Private

Blogger, TypePad and WordPress are the three most popular blogging websites. Both Blogger and TypePad have the ability to make the blog private, but not individual posts private. Only WordPress can make a specific post private. It is an easy process. It is a matter of changing the post's visibility settings on the post webpage. You can make WordPress posts private for yourself or private for only the selected readers of the blog.

  • Open a web browser. Go to your WordPress login webpage. Type your "Username" and "Password." Click the blue "Log In" button.

  • Click "Add New" under the "Posts" menu to create a new blog post. Or click "Posts" and click the post title to make an existing post private.

  • Click "Edit" next to "Visibility" in the "Publish" menu.

  • Click the radio button next to "Private" and click "OK."

  • Click the blue "Update" button. The post is now private.
