How to Create a Bio in Twitter
The Twitter Bio is the first line of exposure for you and potential followers. People will select your profile link when choosing to follow you and this bio is the first introduction. Be sure your profile accurately represents you and your goals for using Twitter.

Log in to your Twitter account at the Twitter.com homepage using your user name and password. If you do not have an account, simply follow the instructions for establishing your user account.

Go to the "Profile" link at the top of your screen next to the "Home" link and the "Search" bar. Once your profile appears, select the "Edit your profile" link underneath the place where your username and avatar appear. You can also find your profile by clicking on the drop-down menu next to your user name at the top right-hand side of the screen. Select the "Settings" option and go to the "Profile" tab.

Simply begin adding your profile information into this section in the designated boxes. Include a website so potential followers can learn more about you and be creative and informative in your Twitter bio. The bio must be 160 characters or less, so be succinct in your message.

Select the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen once your information is added or revised.

View your public profile by selecting the same "Profile" link next to the "Home" button at the top of the screen and be sure the bio reflects your desired message.

Tips & Warnings
If you have no image uploaded as your avatar, which is the thumbnail image of yourself, you will see an egg avatar. This is the default Twitter avatar.
Use a professional head-shot of yourself for your avatar photo. Unless you represent a major corporation with an easily identifiable logo, people will want to connect with a person on Twitter. The picture helps people form an instant connection with you and your personality.
