How to Outline Fonts in Word 2007

Microsoft Word 2007 offers quite a few ways to make an emphasis with its text in a document. Increase text size, change its color, even put it in a text box and twirl it at an angle to make it really stand out. But one way to emphasize text is slightly hidden away from some of the options on the main Font Ribbon. After a couple of clicks, emphasize fonts by outlining them and let the rest of the text on the page take notice.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Word 2007. Type the text to outline, or open an existing Word document by clicking the "File" tab, selecting "Open," browsing to the document and double-clicking it.

    • 2

Highlight the text to outline. Right-click the highlight and select "Font" to open the Font window.

    • 3

Check the "Outline" box toward the bottom of the Font window. The small preview window shows what the font will look like outlined. Click the "OK" button and the font is outlined on the page.
