Easy Way to Download Music to an SD Card

SD cards store your digital files in a compact size and format, making them ideal for smart phones or portable media players. The cards use a type of flash storage, so the card does not have to be plugged into a power source to store the data. Downloading music files to the card is a breeze, especially if you have an SD card reader slot built into your computer. Otherwise you have to use an adapter to download files to the card.

Instructions

1. Insert the USB end of the SD card reader adapter into an open USB port on your computer.

2. Align the arrows on the SD card with the markings on the slot on the adapter or the built-in card reader. Gently push the SD card into the slot.

3. Open a Web browser and visit a site that hosts the download link for the music file. Right-click the music file and click "Save Target As." Click the "Browse" button in the Save Location field and click the "Removable Storage" entry in the list.

4. Click "Save" to download the music file to the SD card.

5. Eject the SD card after the download process is complete.
