How to Get More Than One Companion in "Fallout 3"
"Fallout 3" is an action role-playing-game that puts you in the role of a post-apocalyptic survivor in Washington, D.C., in 2277. Throughout the game, you will encounter a cast of colorful characters, both good and evil, each wanting to leave his mark on the wasteland. Some of these characters can be recruited as companions to fight alongside you during your journey. The game allows you to recruit up to two companions: Dogmeat and any one of seven other companion characters.

Start up "Fallout 3."

Travel to Scrapyard, northeast of Vault 101 and south of Minefield.

Upon entering Scrapyard, you will hear a group of Raiders attacking a dog. Defeat the raiders without attacking the dog, and Dogmeat will be added as your companion.

Recruit any one of the other companion characters. Star Paladin Cross can be found at the Citadel and requires good karma to recruit. Butch DeLoria can be recruited from the Muddy Rudder in River City after you complete the "Trouble on the Homefront" quest. Clover can be purchased in Paradise Falls if you have evil karma. Sergeant RL-3 can be purchased from Tinker Joe outside the RobCo Facility for 1,000 bottle caps, or 500 bottle caps with the barter skill. Jericho can be recruited in Megaton with evil karma. Fawkes can be recruited from Vault 87 with good karma. Charon can be bought for 2,000 caps, or 1,000 caps with the barter skill, from Ahzrukhal in The Ninth Circle.
