How to Order Food for Christmas
Christmas, a busy time of year, is regarded as a time to celebrate with family by eating and exchanging gifts. Cooking a Christmas meal can take days to prepare, depending on the size of the family. Working single mothers and inexperienced cooks, among others, often find these massive Christmas dinners overwhelming. Thankfully, instead of cooking everything at home, grocery stores and restaurants now offer customers the opportunity to have a full or partial dinner cooked for them which is ready for pick up or delivery just in time for the celebration. Estimate or obtain a head count for the number of people who will be attending the Christmas celebration. Include an RSVP by date on invitations to assist with obtaining accurate numbers.

Obtain menus from local grocery stores and restaurants to see what is available for order. Check to see if menus are available online or visit the store in person to obtain a printed menu as available.

Inquire of attending guests about allergies to nuts as well as dietary restrictions to ensure there is something available for everyone.

Plan the meal. Consider offering one or two meat items, several vegetables and several desserts. Decide which items to order and which to cook at home or ask a friend or family member to bring. In some families, Christmas dinner just isn't the same without grandma's famous apple pie or other specialty.

Check with local grocery stores and restaurants to determine how far in advance the food must be ordered and when it can be picked up. Verify price packages, delivery options and quality and ask all other questions you have before placing the order. This can be done over the phone or in person at the store.

Place the order and indicate how many guests you will be serving. Designate a time and date for pick up or delivery. Pay for the food and keep the receipt until the correct order is received.
