How to Carry Eggs in a Basket
Eggs are fragile and the shell will easily break, whether they are raw or boiled. Raw eggs will create a mess if broken, but boiled eggs should also be protected as a broken shell will cause them to spoil faster. When carrying eggs in a basket for any reason, such as carrying Easter eggs or bringing in eggs from the hen house, you can protect them from breakage by adding things to the basket and by carrying them in a manner to avoid movement. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place a layer, at least one inch thick, of fake grass, straw, crumbled newspaper or packing peanuts at the bottom of the basket.
-
2
Add the eggs, one by one, and more of the cushioning material. Eggs should be placed on their sides. Add enough material so the eggs do not bump against each other --this is especially important if the eggs are raw, but you should also do it for boiled eggs so the shell does not crack.

Carry the basket level, and not tilted, so the eggs do not move around.
