How to Use Pinnacle Studio to Grab a Video Frame
Though you may spend hours capturing mundane video with your camcorder, sometimes a single frame can make it all worth it. It may not be a UFO sighting, but you can extract any frame from your videos and save it as an image file. If you use Pinnacle Studio to import and edit your videos, you can use the program's "Frame Grabber" utility to save frame from any video on your computer.

Launch Pinnacle Studio through the program's shortcut on your desktop.

Locate the video you'd like to work with using the Pinnacle's "Album" window. Click on the folders inside of the windows to browse for the video. Click on the "Folder" button to change directories.

Double-click on your video file to play it in Pinnacle Studio's "Preview" window. Use the "Preview" window's playback controls to cue your video to the frame you'd like to capture.

Click on the "Frame Grabber" button in the "Video Toolbox" window. The "Frame Grabber" menu will appear. Check the "Reduce Flicker" box if the selected frame is of a motion shot.

Click on the "Grab" button in the "Frame Grabber" menu to capture the selected frame. Click on the "Save to disk" option to save the frame to a folder on your computer. Select an output folder to store the frame using the file explorer window that appears, and then click on the Save" option.
