How to Create a Backup OS X Snow Leopard DVD
In addition to being a backup copy of your operating system, your Mac OS X Snow Leopard disc also doubles as a boot disk. Like all physical media, your OS X DVD is subject to wear and tear. The easiest way to preserve the original is to create a copy of the boot disc. Mac OS X, with the Disk Utility, a built-in disc copy and repair program, lets you create disc images from which you can create a new DVD.
