How To Core FTP Lite
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is one of a standard group of protocols within TCP/IP. FTP is used for transferring files between computers over the Internet. Connecting to an FTP server requires user authentication as well as an FTP client. There are a number of free FTP clients over the Internet that you can download and use for transferring files to an FTP server, and one of them is Core FTP Lite. Downloading and configuring Core FTP Lite is a fairly straightforward process that doesn't take long to complete.

Open your Web browser. Navigate to the "Coreftp" website (see Resources).

Click the "Download" link on the menu bar.

Click one of the download links under the "Core FTP LE 2.2: free version" heading. It does not matter which one you choose to download. Choose to save the file on your Windows desktop.

Double-click on "coreftplite.exe" on the desktop, and then click "Run." Read the "License Terms" and click on the "Agree" button. Select "Core FTP(required)" in the "Select Components to install" heading, and then click "Next." Click on "Browse," choose the destination folder for the install and click "Next." Click on the "Close" button to finish the installation.

Click "Start" followed by "Programs," "Core FTP" and "Core FTP Le" to launch the program.

Click "Site" followed by "Site Manager" to open the "Site Manager" window.

Enter your FTP server information, including the site Name, FTP server address, username and password.

Click on the "Connect" button to establish an immediate connection with your FTP server. Once connected, your remote server files will appear on the right pane, and your local computer files will display on the left pane of Core FTP.
